Can you really target your “lower” or “upper portion of a muscle that runs lengthwise on your body? There’s only outer and inner muscle heads so this upper lower stuff must just be broscience, right? Well, perhaps not really – today’s research study shows this through a study comparing upper and lower hamstrings muscle activation during two different styles of exercises. This leads to some interesting applications discussion on exercise selection in program design. John always reviews the full text of every article, but to see the abstract of the study discussed, click here: http://journals.lww.com/nsca-jscr/Abstract/publishahead/Regional_Differences_in_Muscle_Activation_During.97305.aspx
