239: Eating A Lot – How Much Actually Goes to Lean Gains?
Posted by John Bosse on
Although most people agree higher protein diets are more optimal for body composition, people still debate about when excess calories are consumed where they should come from, after protein intake gets to a certain level should all extra calories just come from carbs and fat or will the gains be “leaner” if some comes from more protein. Today’s study examines this and leads to discussion on research cherry picking and setting up a plan and mindset around gaining weight for performance and aesthetic purposes. John always reviews the full-text of each study review on the show, but to see the abstract please go to: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22215165 .
